Thomas Heritage & Country is a family-run boutique residential construction company specialising in heritage, period and country homes covering the Rugby, Leamington, Banbury, Northampton and Leicester area.
Built on 40+ years of experience, we deliver extensions, enhancements, refurbishments and new builds with clear planning, disciplined, attention to detail and calm, consistent communication.

Our Services
Build & Extensions
Architect-led extensions for period and country homes, with careful detailing so new work sits naturally alongside the original building. We manage the full build process, programme, trades, site safety and quality, with clear stages, regular updates and disciplined cost control. Ideal for larger kitchen/family extensions, side returns, and substantial reconfigurations.
Restoration & Enhancements
Sensitive restoration and improvement that protects the character of your home while upgrading how it performs day-to-day. From structural repairs and weatherproofing to internal remodelling and high-quality finishes, we work methodically to reduce surprises and keep decision-making clear. Especially suited to stonework, traditional materials and older building quirks.
New Builds
Bespoke new homes delivered with a principal contractor mindset: defined scope, realistic programmes, and straightforward reporting from start to handover. We coordinate every stage, groundworks to final finishes, and maintain high standards of workmanship throughout. Best for clients who want a calm, well-run project and a finished home built to last.
Consultation
Not every client needs a full build contract. If you want experienced input, or professional project management, we offer standalone support for period and country homes. This can include feasibility advice, scope definition, budgeting, contractor selection, programme planning, tender review, and on-site oversight through to handover.

Country homes demand a level of technical understanding and judgement that goes beyond standard construction. Traditional materials such as stone and lime behave differently to modern systems, and the wrong specification can trap moisture, accelerate decay, and create long-term maintenance issues.
Many rural properties also have layered histories of alterations and extensions, so it takes experience to interpret the existing structure, anticipate movement, and diagnose the true cause of problems before work begins.
That same specialist approach is just as valuable on new builds. Delivering a home that sits naturally in a country setting requires an understanding of proportion, detailing and material selection, alongside disciplined workmanship and sound building science.
